Jon Pountney is an artist looking at the structures and landscapes that define, support and represent our communities. He has been documenting Wales for over 20 years through photography, and has presented projects on subjects from seaside towns to the post-industrial ruins of Wales’ past.
He specialises in work that defines sense of place, often weaving archive photographic material and his own drawing and paintings into narratives. He has a passionate interest in social history, folklore and popular culture, and the work of British 20th century artists like Paul Nash, John Piper, and Graham Sutherland.
